If you need off-line information, a local library can be just the place to go. Libraries in the US have worked hard to keep in touch with the latest technologies for storing data and often times have information that can not be easily found in other places. Newspapers and magazines on microfiche, that can include professional business journals where tools of this kind are discussed in detail.

University professors and experts in the field are often only a few clicks away, and are usually available to answer questions or give small tidbits of insight to the honest seeker. Finding them may take a few more steps, through university websites and campus directories. However, the quality and depth of knowledge that these people can represent is invaluable.
