Increasing Internet Sales Via Split Testing

If you want to increase your online sales volume then you will want to look towards split testing. It is okay if you are not sure what split testing is as there are many people who have never heard of it. You can use split testing to figure out why some web pages are more successful than others and thus use the better web pages. What split testing does is take two different web pages that you’ve created and it rotates between the two. It rotates every time someone visits your site thus only every other person will see the same page.

So why would you want to use split testing? Well a perfect situation would be if you had a site where you sold products but you had two different web pages for it and didn’t know which one you would want to use. You can then setup the script to run the split test. As you get visitors to your script will show the different pages. After you’ve run the script for a while you will be able to look at the numbers and see which site gets more sales.

Why is this so beneficial? Well you can find out which site attracts more buyers which will allow you to improve the overall domain and increase your sales. For example if you start with only a 1% conversion rate and after running the split test you’ve noticed that the newer site works better so you switch out the sites. After switching out the sites you notice that your rate has gone up to 1.5%. That’s a 50% increase in sales from simply switching out your websites!

What makes split testing so powerful is that you can do it even after you’ve found a better site and thus improve your site even further. There’s no end to how much you can improve your site! If you notice that your sales start to flat line then you can create another page with another split test and improve it even more.

Every business is driven by sales. It doesn’t matter if your business provides a product or a service without selling your product or service you will not be able to keep your business running. You can use split testing to gain important knowledge that you may not have gained otherwise. You can also see trends in your advertising to see what parts of your advertising are more effective than others. You can then try new pictures and attention grabbers on your website.

You will gain a vast knowledge of information from simply performing a few split tests on your domain. Many marketers believe that you should increase your sales by increasing the amount of visitors to your site. While this is an effective way to increase your sales it also costs extra money. You can similarly increase your sales by increasing what’s appeasing to your guests. You may be skeptical about investing your time to do a split test however you won’t know how effective it can be until you actually try it. After all is said and done you can use the information that you’ve gained from your split test and apply it across several domains.
