Jockeys knew this and trained accordingly. When you know the difference between winning and losing is such a small margin, knowing every detail about your strategy and plan is crucial. If you want be in the winner’s circle, you are going to have to use every tool available to stay competitive. This includes every type of website analytical tool you can get your hands on. Fortunately there are probably a lot of tools out there that you didn’t even know existed that are designed to help you optimize traffic.

Many times a company will allocate all their time and money to creating awareness and generating traffic when they don’t give a second though to analyzing how all those visitors interact with the site once they get there. Often times, conversion rates can improve by just knowing things such as traffic sources and click through rates.

Unless you become familiar with the ins and outs of the analytics, you’ll never know if your site is performing as well as it should. You’ll be flying blind and hoping for the best. Today there are too many step by step tutorials that make it very easy to understand how to use analytics to avoid them.

The worst thing you can do is assume your website is performing to the best of it’s ability; there is always room for improvement. Use the tools available to you and make sure you are the one coming out ahead at the finish line.
