Knowing how people get to your website is a fundamental factor in fine-tuning your online presence. It can do wonders when it comes to squeezing more out of your advertising budget or becoming more educated about the tendencies of your users. Fortunately for you, any web analytics tool worth its salt will have a breakdown of all the sources of traffic that lands on your site. So now that you that you know, let’s cover the basics.

If you are using Google Analytics, you’ll see Traffic Sources in the left hand column – click on it and select sources.

First you will see “Direct Traffic”. Any visitor that falls under direct traffic typed in your URL in directly. They didn’t find you through any kind of search or third party site. This can indicate the effectiveness of your offline marketing or word of mouth referrals.

Option 2 is Referring Sites. These visits come from any link to your site on another site. This can include blogs, partner sites, banner ads or directory listings. These visits can tell you a lot about what other interests your visitors have and how popular you site is across the web. If you are seeing a high volume of referring sites, that means you have links across all of them, which is a very positive thing.

Your third source is Search Engines. This is pretty self explanatory. It let’s you know which search engines people are coming from. This includes paid listings along with the organic ones.

There are some subtleties to analytics that are worth knowing, but that is the meat and potatoes. One important thing to look for is the percentage of visitors coming from direct traffic as opposed to search engine traffic. Since 80% of web traffic comes from search engines, you know that you need to focus on your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) if you see the majority coming from direct traffic. That will tell you people aren’t finding you by your keywords and you’re missing out on a lot of very valuable (and cheap) organic traffic.

The phrase “winning by a nose” comes from horse racing for obvious reasons. The first and second place winners would be so close they would need to analyze photos of the finish. Jockeys knew this and trained accordingly. When you know the difference between winning and losing is such a small margin, knowing every detail about your strategy and plan is crucial. Landing in the winners circle online takes the same type of mentality.

If you want be in the winner’s circle, you are going to have to use every tool available to stay competitive. This includes every type of website analytical tool you can get your hands on. It’s not enough these days to throw a website up and hope for the best. As of December 2010 there were 266,848,493 online. Fortunately there are probably a lot of tools out there that you didn’t even know existed that are designed to help you optimize traffic.

Many times a company will allocate all their time and money to creating awareness and generating traffic when they don’t give a second though to analyzing how all those visitors interact with the site once they get there. Often times, conversion rates can improve by just knowing things such as traffic sources and click through rates.

Unless you become familiar with the ins and outs of the analytics, you’ll never know if your site is performing as well as it should. You’ll be flying blind and hoping for the best. Today there are too many step by step tutorials that make it very easy to understand how to use analytics to avoid them.

The worst thing you can do is assume your website is performing to the best of it’s ability; there is always room for improvement. Use the tools available to you and make sure you are the one coming out ahead at the finish line.

Learn more about Analytics. Stop by our site where you can find out all about Heat Maps and what it can do for you.

Web masters have suggested us to outline our targets and searching for criteria for developing personas. Is this obligatory for presenting a web to a lead or costumer? Definitively yes.

Simply a net page developed for “being” or “showing” is demod and put us out of the market. Our web isn’t for ourselves or for having the ok from the CEO of the business but for our future customers. Our presence in Web must be a tool for enganging leads and convert them into customers. Therefore if our visitors have different profiles, we must evolve our website to the personas we would like to convert into clients.

How many segments should be made

It is necessary to have at least 2 personas outlined, being the best number between 3 and 7. My personal recommendation is 3. Why? Three personas cover all the personality characters and shed light upon the building of the site and that could be a reasonable number.

Why this number? The fact is that choosing three personas we can cover all the personality characters and streamline the building of the site. More would complicate our efforts and less could let a hole in our prospection.

Suggestions for a Site

We have selected 3 personas for developing ou techniques. In this sense, it should be critical to define the site for the following ones:

* Persona 1: Systematic people

* Persona 2: Humanistic people

* Character 3: Spontaneous/competitive visitors

You should change your internet site with the goal of converting all that sort of visitors or leads into costumers and it is necessary, when outlined, a clear call to action. So we need at least three calls to action, one for each character.

It is also high recommendable to build 3 different landing pages or even 3 different subdomains where each type of persona could find what they are searching for. After that, we have to develop a webscan for controlling everything goes OK.

Hence we can optimize our abilities for changing them into new costumers and get our objective for our site: profits.

Abel Pardo Fernndez is CEO of Aigen Digital Marketing, specialised in Social Media and Diseño Web (Webdesign) and Professor of Marketing at the Universidad de León.

Boy oh boy did Betty Crocker hit the jackpot when she introduced Hamburger Helper. She saw that there are numerous people who appreciate tasty food concoctions with beef that go beyond the run-of-the mill hamburger. People savor recipes such as Cheddar Melt Chili or Creamy Tuna Primavera. The thing is that nobody knew how to cook these wonderful recipes. Yes, they could have tried a cookbook, but no one has the time for that anymore.

The stage was set for the helping hand, which almost overnight allowed food lovers at every cooking level to make their most coveted meals that were originally intended for special occasions. And before you could say “hot plate,” Hamburger Helper modified the idea of suppertime in the United States forever.

Before heatmaps, one of the most popular ways to get analytics from your website was to use Google Analytics (a cookbook). In order to do this you had to leave your website and log into Google Analytics where you would find a dashboard bursting with measurements of your site’s performance without really knowing what the numbers and measurements represented or what changes you could make as a result of them.

With overlaying heatmaps (Hamburger Helper) a website operator no longer needs to depart from their site in order to see their analytics as they would lay right over his or her site. Think of it as a bunch of complex numbers that are organized into a succinct visual layout on top of your website.

The moral of the story? You no longer have to be an analytics guru to understand a service like heatmaps. Heatmaps were built so joe couch potato could make simple changes to his website that would help increase conversion rates and lead to more sales.

If you would like to learn more about a simplified analytics solution, stop by www.seevolution .com to find genuine advice on website heatmaps and how they can triple conversion rates.

During last months Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Sean Parker addressed the expansion of young websites and how it is not that different than tugging back a rubber band and then letting it rip.

This couldn’t be more true when discussing your site’s SEO.

Constantly writing posts that include the same, segmented keywords will appear in search rankings after you have been adding articles for extended periods of time. This can be difficult since you might not be able to see the results you want right when you are getting started. I’ve talked with others who endure the same pains and deal with it differently. Since the viewing the interview with Sean, I thought “why not write a blog post about such a clever metaphor that others could apply to their own websites?”

Just look at this article. If I started this blog yesterday and this was the only post I made it would not get any traffic. But since I have made numerous posts around the same niche I am starting build the long tail. Google recognizes this and awards us. Just keep thinking to yourself: the more content, the better. Also, try and make it as niche as possible.

If you decide to start adding content to help increase your site’s SEO the old fashioned way, remember to stay the course, and don’t quit. If you do, all your work will have been for not. Stay focused, stay hungry, and eventually your site will climb up in the rankings.

If you are still not sold on this whole SEO thing. Try contacting a professional SEO consulting service. They will tell you the exact same thing that I have outlaid in this post: good SEO takes time, and anyone who tells you it can be done overnight is lying.

After you drive the masses to your site with your genius SEO strategy will you be ready to handle the traffic? Try heatmaps for free and watch your conversion rates triple. Guaranteed.

1. Creativity
I am a huge Office fan and have seen every episode to date. The writing team there is phenomenal because they always seem to come up with different ways to challenge us with new story lines that are perfect for breaking up the mundane, everyday office life that most people are used to. But the best part is that they do it by making it seem believable. Sure the party planning committee goes a little bonkers some times, but that is why they call it Hollywood.

In the world of marketing, it is paramount to think outside of the box. Since the Internet, I feel that the lines have been blurred between what is new and what is normal. Keep in mind that innovation and creation are not the same. For example, if you used a service like heatmaps you would be considered innovative but you would not be considered creative; you did not think of it. Just like Michael Scott’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory golden ticket promotion idea. Innovative, not creative.

2. Preparedness
Dwight is ready for anything. Bear attacks, sex predators, or nuclear war. You name it, Dwight has planned for it. In marketing you need to pe prepared for anything your company throws at you. As we talked about earlier, creativity is important, but don’t let what works escape you either.

3. Resiliency
When Michael had the idea to give gift baskets to the clients who left for the bigger chains he was being resilient. If one of you’re clients leaves, ask why or if there is anything you can that would change their mind.

4. Be Humble
Recall when Ryan acquired the corporate job and it all went to his head? Don’t attempt to be like our buddy Ryan. Of course you desire to be success, but you need to always remember where you started and treat people how you would want to be treated.

5. Confidence
Say what you will regarding Michael Scott, but the man can sell. This was possibly best demonstrated when he locked in the deal with the whole Scranton school district at Chiles. Having self-assurance is everything, it is easy to tell when you have it but it is even easier to tell when you don’t.

Learn more about marketing creativity. Stop by Chris Carlton’s site where you can find out all about today’s working strategies and what they can do for you.

For you to get traffic to your site from the search engines, it will rely on two points of SEO. The 2 components we are discussing are both -n page and off-page website optimization. While both of these facets of SEO are very crucial, in the following paragraphs we will be focusing more on the off-page search engine optimization.

This is the way you can get the attention of the search engines by performing things that are not linked directly to your on-page optimization. And in essence we are referring to the generation of backlinks. And I’m certain that you are aware that developing links can be done using different strategies. In this article we’re going to be dealing with the top two ways for you to construct backlinks to your website.

Some of you may or may not have heard of website directories, but this is the first approach we are going to talk about. Despite the fact that a site directory can almost be considered a search engine, they don’t crawl the web looking for new websites and pages, you actually need to submit your website to them. The actual page ranking of the website will also be something that can help the ranking of your site. You may not understand this but there are website directories online that actually have a page rank of 8, meaning, that would be an amazing link to get. On the other hand this doesn’t imply that you shouldn’t submit to every directory you can even if it has a low page rank because the number of links you have will also help.

This brings us to article marketing as being a backlink building strategy. Using this strategy is also a good way to get your back links all over the Internet And just like site directories you can discover article directories to submit your articles to that have a great page rank. Most of the article directories which were around for awhile can have a page rank of at least 5. Links inside articles are more effective than website directory links and when you get your articles posted in an article directory with a page rank of 5 these links will possess even more power. And naturally these links can even help to increase the ranking of your own site. We won’t be going through the steps of article marketing here, but you can find e-books online that will be able to teach you everything you need to know about article marketing.

You will find various softwares that will say they can build you all the inbound links you want, easy, stay away from them. The very last thing you want to do after all your hard work is to get slapped by Google for spamming inbound links all over the Internet This isn’t to say that all link building software is bad because it is not. There are softwares available that can help to save you tons of time when submitting articles as well as submitting your site to website directories. These softwares are truly helpful for individuals who don’t have a lot of time on their hands so they can get more work done in less time. Leaving you additional time to develop new sites or products.

Establishing a blog is a terrific way to make money and when you use a free blog you don’t have any costs. But not any platform works when your trying to earn money off a blog. I had my Wordpress sites shut down for trying to get people to check out the affiliate programs I was promoting. An additional bad thing about a free Wordpress blog is that your not allowed to incorporate Adsense ads. The blogger. com system really does allow for Adsense and they have no issue with you advertising affiliate programs. Blogger would be the best option for anybody looking for a free money making blog.

This system provides you with various designs for your blog pages and they are super easy to manage. It is possible to look through the styles they have and just choose one that you like. You can also alter the colors of the blog in case your unhappy with all the default colors. You can select the background, alter the layout and colors and actually make the blog look completely unique. This really is just one of the truly amazing features you will discover with a blogger account.

They have even made it very easy to add your Adsense code to your blog. They will include the adsense blocks in your blog and also have them automatically match the actual style of your blog. And by having this integrated into the system you won’t have to login in to Google and generate the blocks yourself. Your blog can also be updated to new colors quickly and also update the particular colors of your adsense codes.

Of course it doesn’t end there as you can also add affiliate links and banners to your site. This is a second method that you’ll be in a position to earn money from your free blog. Most people choose affiliate marketing whenever they are trying to make money. And also by adding Adsense and Clickbank products to your blog you will have a couple of ways to earn money off your website. Obviously you can pick any type of affiliate program you would like, you don’t just have to use Clickbank affiliate products.

The truth that Google are the owners of blogger. com is in reality a positive thing. Simply because Google owns them you could end up getting your blog indexed and also ranked faster. This means that you’ll start to acquire site visitors to your blog very quickly. So when you think about it, generating traffic quickly also means making money more quickly, which is really what everybody wants.

So the truth is that you can earn money online without having to spend a fortune. The truth is by using the services of a zero cost blogging account like blogger you will not even have to spend money on your own domain name or web hosting account. So a free blog is actually a great way to make money, specifically if you have no money to get started.

If you fail more than 10% of the time with medical assistant salary, then a little something is definitely up. Perhaps lackluster outcomes are ok with you. Others have totally turned things around based on specific medical assistant salary they found out.
