Web masters have suggested us to outline our targets and searching for criteria for developing personas. Is this obligatory for presenting a web to a lead or costumer? Definitively yes.

Simply a net page developed for “being” or “showing” is demod and put us out of the market. Our web isn’t for ourselves or for having the ok from the CEO of the business but for our future customers. Our presence in Web must be a tool for enganging leads and convert them into customers. Therefore if our visitors have different profiles, we must evolve our website to the personas we would like to convert into clients.

How many segments should be made

It is necessary to have at least 2 personas outlined, being the best number between 3 and 7. My personal recommendation is 3. Why? Three personas cover all the personality characters and shed light upon the building of the site and that could be a reasonable number.

Why this number? The fact is that choosing three personas we can cover all the personality characters and streamline the building of the site. More would complicate our efforts and less could let a hole in our prospection.

Suggestions for a Site

We have selected 3 personas for developing ou techniques. In this sense, it should be critical to define the site for the following ones:

* Persona 1: Systematic people

* Persona 2: Humanistic people

* Character 3: Spontaneous/competitive visitors

You should change your internet site with the goal of converting all that sort of visitors or leads into costumers and it is necessary, when outlined, a clear call to action. So we need at least three calls to action, one for each character.

It is also high recommendable to build 3 different landing pages or even 3 different subdomains where each type of persona could find what they are searching for. After that, we have to develop a webscan for controlling everything goes OK.

Hence we can optimize our abilities for changing them into new costumers and get our objective for our site: profits.

I earn my living as a search engine optimization specialist and am always being asked by my clients about Free Website analytics. I always suggest that they make use of the excellent Google Analytics system.

Of course this is not the only free website analytics program available, in fact many hosting packages have one built in, but there is no doubt in my mind that none of them can do as good a job as Google Analytics

Google Analytics uses a unique number that is pasted into the template of your website. It’s even easier to set up if you use Wordpress as you just have to put the number in a box and a few clicks later it’s all set up.

When you login to your Analytics account you will be able to see a snapshot of how your website is performing. There is a lot to take in so initially just look at the most important factors.

Initially the most important factor that you will see is Site Usage or how many visitors your website has received. You can easily see if this is improving or not. You can also see where your visitors are coming from geographically.

The ‘Traffic Sources’ link allows you to see where your visitors are coming from. Are they just typing your web address into their browsers or are they coming from links on other websites, or from search engines. All useful information that allows you to start to make improvements to your site and to get even more visitors.

For any website to be a success it needs large numbers of visitors, the more you can get, the better. It is a numbers game. Analytics shows you the numbers but you need to put things in place to increase them as best as you can

The more content you build into your website the more traffic you will receive, traffic also increases as the links pointing to your website increase. There is an excellent system available for creating huge volumes of traffic called ‘Total Traffic Annihilation’, this system automatically builds links to your site and is responsible for many websites experiencing huge amounts of additional free traffic. I have placed a link below to this if you want to take a closer look at it.

Take a look at Total Traffic Annihilation or visit Internet Income Plan for more advice on succesful internet marketing

With the WWW becoming a jumble of web pages and html, e-marketers, or online marketers need to become even more analytically suave at the micro level in order to achieve online business success. Google’s site optimizer is a must use in today’s over competitive world of web clicks.

A great webpage is one that is free of clutter, and has a “fresh” look to it. You must create a good eye catching head that will grip the surfer’s attention and then hold their attention on the page long enough to accomplish your goals. Important information that will grab the readers’ attention should go above the page fold (the area of the web page that is visible when a user loads the page). This information should be considered carefully as this is the area that will hold the reader’s attention and keep them on the page and purchase your business product, (using the shopping cart) download information, or fill out any forms you may have on your website. All of this information should be laid out above the page fold.

As a web site owner it’s also important to think about do again business or email subscription prominently on the home page. To get started, feed burner is a free email subscription tool and is a great way to get started. This tool includes free statistics as well including page views and unique (your web site reach) visitors.

Some of these desired actions that are performed on your website are known as conversions in the Google online marketing world. With the Google website optimizer, you can perform two types of testing. A/B split tests along with Multivariate testing. A/V Google optimizer is most excellent used when your website gets a low amount of traffic. It’s also greatest used when you are testing different web pages, or want to move objects around on that web page.

Multivariate testing is different from A/B testing. Multivariate testing is for testing on different locations within a single web page when that particular webpage has high traffic. Using this tool at its optimal level, you can test multiple locations at the same time on a single web site page. To use this feature, first identify and tag the links you want to test, and decide the goals for those links.

Next you’ll need to follow the installation wizard after you click on the Google website optimizer tab. In this process, you’ll be implementing variations and implementing symbol for your marketing analysis needs. The website optimizer will automatically create different variations for the usage of your test pages. Use the preview feature to see how this different will look before you start it live on your website. After you’re done previewing, you can start your screening. You’ll want to periodically analyze your results to make sure that they are effective. Another feature that is available is that you will be able to copy the experiment if you want to run it again and see results.

The Google multivariate test will report how the percentage of conversions has changed since the variations and combinations were added. Using the Google website optimizer is a great way to track how a web page is performing and will optimize conversions, Return on Investment (ROI calculated by profit divided costs), and create loyal and repeat customers.

If you want to increase your online sales volume then you will want to look towards split testing. It is okay if you are not sure what split testing is as there are many people who have never heard of it. You can use split testing to figure out why some web pages are more successful than others and thus use the better web pages. What split testing does is take two different web pages that you’ve created and it rotates between the two. It rotates every time someone visits your site thus only every other person will see the same page.

So why would you want to use split testing? Well a perfect situation would be if you had a site where you sold products but you had two different web pages for it and didn’t know which one you would want to use. You can then setup the script to run the split test. As you get visitors to your script will show the different pages. After you’ve run the script for a while you will be able to look at the numbers and see which site gets more sales.

Why is this so beneficial? Well you can find out which site attracts more buyers which will allow you to improve the overall domain and increase your sales. For example if you start with only a 1% conversion rate and after running the split test you’ve noticed that the newer site works better so you switch out the sites. After switching out the sites you notice that your rate has gone up to 1.5%. That’s a 50% increase in sales from simply switching out your websites!

What makes split testing so powerful is that you can do it even after you’ve found a better site and thus improve your site even further. There’s no end to how much you can improve your site! If you notice that your sales start to flat line then you can create another page with another split test and improve it even more.

Every business is driven by sales. It doesn’t matter if your business provides a product or a service without selling your product or service you will not be able to keep your business running. You can use split testing to gain important knowledge that you may not have gained otherwise. You can also see trends in your advertising to see what parts of your advertising are more effective than others. You can then try new pictures and attention grabbers on your website.

You will gain a vast knowledge of information from simply performing a few split tests on your domain. Many marketers believe that you should increase your sales by increasing the amount of visitors to your site. While this is an effective way to increase your sales it also costs extra money. You can similarly increase your sales by increasing what’s appeasing to your guests. You may be skeptical about investing your time to do a split test however you won’t know how effective it can be until you actually try it. After all is said and done you can use the information that you’ve gained from your split test and apply it across several domains.

Businesses and marketing seem to have a new tool that has generated a lot of excitement in this information age. Web analytics is a generic term for software that analysis or taps into the data generated by people visiting website and generating business in general. Everything you wanted to know about web analytics is available to anyone willing to take the steps to seek it all out.

Google is more then likely the place to start any search about anything. Keywords for a search can be web analytics, analytics, web log analysis or even web traffic. Any one of these will give you information. However, the key is to actually use several different keywords to run different searches and scan through each, taking notes. There is More information than you’ll ever need, with some of the best links usually being on top of the search.

Another option to start with is to go directly to Wikipedia.org. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia created and maintained by the public. This makes it very extensive in subject matter, but sometimes the information is suspect. The information is usually well organized and easy to read, with links within articles that lead to others on that specific topic. Credibility can sometimes be an issue, and so it is also monitored by the very people who write articles in it.

Both above options will lead you to other links, but each in its own way. A Google search will offer up a plethora of sights containing your keyword. However, many of the links will only lead you to other links about links that send you to articles about the links. The researcher or would be expert must learn to filter out dead ends by reading the blurbs beneath the links that give you a few sentences of the article in question. Often times that is enough to save you. Remember, the further down the search options you go, the fewer relevancies you’ll find with both keywords.

An article for Wikipedia will generally include a few links that will shed a light on anything you’re still in the dark about. These external links at the end of the article are excellent sources, since they are typically the main vein from which the information was mined to write the wiki.

If you need off-line information, a local library can be just the place to go. Libraries in the US have worked hard to keep in touch with the latest technologies for storing data and often times have information that can not be easily found in other places. Newspapers and magazines on microfiche, that can include professional business journals where tools of this kind are discussed in detail.

University professors and experts in the field are often only a few clicks away, and are usually available to answer questions or give small tidbits of insight to the honest seeker. Finding them may take a few more steps, through university websites and campus directories. However, the quality and depth of knowledge that these people can represent is invaluable.

Regardless of the routes one takes to knowledge, using the knowledge is the key to success. These five ways to learning everything you wanted to know about web analytics can give you a head start in developing an edge for a web business or product that could put it over the top.

HostGator is the cheapest web host. You can use hostgator discount code to get discount at the time of sign up.

Split testing is essential to be performed on the online businesses, and it is one of the lesser known areas of testing, which sounds more like Greek and Latin to others. In case, you happen to be one of them, who isn’t really familiar with the term split testing, let us try to understand what split testing is really all about, with the help of a life real life example.

Assuming that you sell ovens in your local stores, you can adopt different strategies to sell it on your own, which could vary considerably from the strategies adopted by a near-by store. Now, if the neighboring store does better than you, it is possible to learn from your mistakes and improvise, until you succeed in performing better than all other stores in locality.

However, the end result is indeed achieving higher sales, and in case you feel that another nearby store is doing better than you, it is always possible to discover the areas of improvements to come out on top, and be the best in the business. As a result, you may even learn from your competitors, and concentrate upon the smallest things that could be capitalized on.

Now, when you consider an online store that sells oven, the overall concept remains the same, but the way in which, you may sell the oven online in an ecommerce store rather than a conventional shop, would vary drastically, hence an altogether different strategy needs to be adopted. Split testing can be done separately for both the ways of generating revenues, but the whole point of performing split testing in focusing on the minute details of an approach rather than comparing two different ways of a campaign.

Hence, you may carry out split testing on your Google AdWords advertising campaign, and check the conversion rates, by monitoring the difference in your best performing AdWords campaign and the rest. Even if you feel by changing the background colors, the font size or font family of the Ad URLs, the best performing ads have generated 1% higher profit, it could be worth your time, to incorporate these changes to the rest of the campaign.

Remember, getting a flawless product is all about continuous improvement, and split testing helps you to approach that nearly-flawless product within a short span of time. Even running the best advertising campaign is a part of the strategy, and overall marketing plan, so paying attention to the most successful ad formats may be worth your time. These small things can surely make a big difference as a whole.

The business that you do online either succeeds or fails miserably, based on the split test you take. Apart from the working and the results of its working, internet gives you very little information. By doing a split test effectively, the results can be effective. Your pages on the web will be more effective when you do your split test for what it is really intended for.
